CRITERIA RACE
Under its austere appearance, the St. Bernard dog proved to be a gentle, friendly, loyal and obedient.
His stature makes a dog unsuitable for apartment life, although it showed a lot of delicacy in his movements.
ORIGIN OF THE BREED
The Saint Bernard dog breeds descended from the Swiss firm, whose ancestor is the mountain mastiff, introduced by the Romans. In 1049, a community of canons based on a mountain pass hopsice, under the leadership of St. Bernard of Menthon.
Since the late seventeenth century, these hospitals were raising mastiifs used as a watchdog to open passage through the snow.
These dogs earn their reputation for rescue dogs after 1800, the fra, neck ciated by the Napoleonic armies.
